Soccer news:
Thursday (3/3) at Tahlequah. Girls 4:30 p.m. & Boys 5:45 p.m.

This Friday’s 5th - 8th track meet at Maryetta has been moved to next Wednesday, April 9 due to possible storms.

4-H news:
4-H meeting Tuesday (4/1) during after-school.

Cheer tryouts today after school. Good luck to all those who are trying out.

Academic Team news:
Friday, April 4th: Tournament of Champions @ Rose State College. We will leave at 8:00 a.m.

Track news:
The 7th/8th grade track teams traveled to the Fort Gibson Middle School Invitational Track Meet on March 27th. The 8th Grade boys brought home 14 medals.
Layne Morgan: Gold in the long jump at 19’10", third place in the 4 x 100, and 3rd in the high jump, clearing 5’8".
Jaxson Osburn received a silver medal in the 800 m run and 4th in the mile run.
Reese Carpenter took third in the 4 x 100 relay and 4th place in the 400 m dash.
Lukas Soap took 3rd place in the 300 m hurdles.
Jevan Dick took 3rd place in the high jump.
Chase Rose took 3rd in shot put.
Jackson Lopez took 3rd, HighEagle Pratt took 4th and Canaan Rose took 5th in the discus.
8th grade Girls brought home six medals.
Lilly Garcia won the gold in a 200 m dash with a time of 28.16.
Pamela Eusebio won gold in the long jump with a personal best jump of 15’4".
Kaydence Johnston came in 3rd in long jump with a jump of 13’4" and she came in 4th in the 100 m hurdles.
Natalie VanBuskirk came in 4th in the discus.
Bella Bread placed 3rd in the shot put.
7th Grade Boys
Gavyn Walker came in 2nd in the 100 m dash. His time was 13.96.
Brayden Gruber finished third with a time of 13.99
6th grader Logan Ryals placed 3rd in shot put.

March Student of the Month Assembly is Friday, March 28th at 8:15 a.m. in the upper gymnasium. Parents of selected students have been notified. Congrats to our Students of the Month for March!


Track news:
7th/8th track meet at Fort Gibson today. Bus will leave at 7:55 a.m.
Congratulations to all the 5th & 6th grade track competitors who went to the Tahlequah Arrowhead Track Meet yesterday.
Jovanni Falcon won gold in the Mile Run with a time of 5:31.
6th grade boys mile relay came in 4th . The team included Jovanni Falcon, Josh Meigs, Si Smith and Alex Ryals.
RyanLee Romero received 2nd place in the 5th grade boys shot put.

Reminder:
There are no Soccer games on Monday, March 31st @ Tahlequah. Games were moved to Thursday, April 3rd. Girls will play at 4:30 p.m. and boys will play at 5:45 p.m. We have a 5th-8th Track Meet at Keys on that day.

Adrianna Harjo, Harper Lewis and Trent Kennedy were selected to represent Briggs School in the All-Star Band. Adrianna and Trent play the flute and Harper plays the trumpet. On March 25th, they participated in a regional band clinic and performed at the Performing Arts Center in Tahlequah. This event brought together students from various schools in Oklahoma for musical training and a concert. Briggs School is so very proud of our students! Stay confident and continue to shine!


4-H NEWS:
Blakely and John Hiatt participated in Illustrated Talk as a Team. They received 1st place. Nevaeh Andrade gave a PowerPoint Presentation on her bearded dragon, she received 3rd place. Neveah also did an Impromptu speech (How 4-H has helped my family was the topic she drew out). She received 1st place.
Great job 4-H Club members. You represented Briggs School well.

2025 AMERIND Safety Poster Contest - DEADLINE MARCH 31
Attention artists! Submit your safety themed poster to the UKB Housing Department or your District Representative.
• The winner of each category will receive $100 from the Housing Department.
• Winners will be sent to the regional housing association for regional voting.
• Regional winners from each category are submitted to AMERIND for national voting.
• National online voting. One winner is selected from each category.
• Winners announced at AMERIND Member Business Meeting. The national winner in each category (K-3, 4-6, 7-8) receives $1,000.
Categories:
Kindergarten – 3rd Grade
4th Grade – 6th Grade
7th Grade – 8th Grade
The theme can be any safety topic: fire safety, driving safety, etc.
